We're delighted you're exploring Carolina Christian School! To help you through the admissions process, we've outlined our policies and the steps involved in joining our Carolina family.

Navigating the Application and Enrollment Process

Our annual enrollment unfolds in four key phases. New applicants may begin the process by submitting an application for enrollment in their priority window only after Phase 1: Re-Enrollment has concluded.

Phase 1: Re-Enrollment (Current Carolina Students Only)

Current students can secure their spot for the upcoming year by submitting an online re-enrollment packet and paying the non-refundable re-enrollment fee* during the designated re-enrollment period each January.
Early Application for Current Preschool Students (PS3 & PS4): Families with children currently enrolled in PS3 or PS4 who wish to apply for PreK or Kindergarten for the upcoming school year must submit a new student application. While your child is considered a new student, you are eligible to submit the application during the re-enrollment period.
In addition to the school calendar, please refer to the Key Admissions Dates on the Admissions page for re-enrollment dates.
*While there is no application fee for returning students, you must pay your non-refundable re-enrollment fee to secure your spot.

Phase 2: New Student Applications for Enrollment

Priority Window 1: Applications for Siblings of Current CCS Students:

Siblings of currently enrolled students (Preschool through Grade 12) can submit a new student application during a designated priority window in late January/early February, pending space availability.

Priority Window 2: Applications for Carolina Presbyterian Church (CPC) Members:

Members of Carolina Presbyterian Church (CPC) can submit new student applications during a designated priority window in early February, pending space availability.

Priority Window 3: Open Enrollment for New Students:

New students interested in enrolling at Carolina Christian School must complete an online application, available during our open enrollment period each school year (beginning in early February) and accepted through August 31st (based on space).

For all new applicants a non-refundable application fee is required at the time of submission:

Preschool (PS2, PS3, PS4): $150
PreK - Grade 12: $175

Phase 3: New Student Pre-Admission Steps

Student Readiness Pre-Admission Assessment (New Applicants: PreK - Grade 9)

This assessment helps us determine your child's readiness and the most appropriate grade placement for their academic success at CCS.
Once your application and required documents are reviewed, our Admissions team will contact you to schedule an assessment appointment.
On-site assessment dates are typically offered in mid-March. Please refer to the school calendar for specific dates. We encourage you to attend one of these.
If you cannot make these dates, the assessment can be completed at ABC Educational Services in Matthews, NC.
After we receive the assessment results, our Admissions team will contact you to discuss them and outline the next steps.
Note: Families with children currently enrolled in PS3 or PS4 who wish to apply for PreK or Kindergarten for the upcoming school year must submit a new student application. As part of the application process, a pre-admission assessment is required and can be accessed via your Family Portal.
Note: Current PreK students re-enrolling into Kindergarten are typically not required to complete a pre-admission assessment, unless recommended by their PreK teacher (in which case a fee may apply).

Kindergarten Requirement (All Kindergarten Applicants)

In addition to updated immunizations, all Kindergarten applicants must have a completed NC Kindergarten health assessment from their physician before the first day of school. This includes current CCS PreK students enrolling in Kindergarten.

High School Requirement (New Applicants)

New High School applicants must complete a student questionnaire within the online application, in addition to the application and any requested pre-admission assessment. The student must sign the questionnaire to verify their completion.

Phase 4: New Student Admission and Enrollment

Once an applicant meets all admissions requirements, our Admissions team will evaluate their application to determine the best fit for our classes.
If your child is accepted, our team will notify you about the official online enrollment process.
To secure your child's seat, you will need to complete the online enrollment packet and pay the non-refundable enrollment fee upon submission:
- PreK: $350
- Lower School (K-Grade 5): $480
- Middle School (Grades 6-8): $600
- High School (Grades 9-12): $775
Note: New student enrollment fees are not required for Preschool (PS2, PS3, PS4) as they are covered by the application fee. Annual re-enrollment fees apply to returning Preschool students.

Understanding Our Admissions Policies

We operate with the following guidelines as we consider each student for admission:

A Welcoming Community: Carolina Christian School welcomes students of all races, colors, creeds, and national or ethnic origins.
Alignment with Our Mission: To uphold our Christ-centered mission, we reserve the right to deny enrollment or dismiss any student or family whose expressed beliefs directly contradict our Statement of Faith, policies, and procedures.
Age Requirements for Early Grades (Must be met by August 31st of the enrolling year):
- PreK: Child's 4th birthday
- Kindergarten: Child's 5th birthday
- 1st Grade: Child's 6th birthday
Applying for the Current Year: New student applications are accepted throughout the school year (until August 31st), depending on classroom availability.
How We Review Applications: We consider new student applications in the order they are received during our enrollment periods.
Class Placement: The school administration carefully determines student admission and class assignments. Please note that student transfers between classes are not possible.
Readiness Assessment (PreK - Grade 9): To ensure the best academic fit, all new applicants for PreK through Grade 9 will complete a student readiness pre-admission assessment.
High School Transcript Review (Grades 10-12): Applicants for Grades 10-12 must provide an official high school transcript for review. If further evaluation is needed, we may request a pre-admission assessment.
Transferring Student Records: Our Admissions Office will request the school records of students transferring to CCS after their enrollment is finalized.
Our Waitlist: When a grade level reaches capacity, we establish a waitlist. Please understand that placement on the waitlist does not guarantee acceptance, and the order of selection is at the discretion of the school administration.
