James Kluttz
Board Chairman

James Kluttz joined the Carolina Christian School Board in 2021.  He earned a BS degree in Information Technology and his MS degree in Leadership from Walden University.  He currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Sutter Health.  James lives in Stanfield, NC with his wife, Kelly, and daughter Sydney, who is a senior at CCS.  He and his family attend Carolina Presbyterian Church.

James is also an elected official for the Town of Stanfield, serving as Mayor and serves as an advisory board member for several technology organizations.  In addition to his professional endeavors, he also coaches basketball here at CCS.

James views CCS as a tremendous outreach within our community, an opportunity to reach and touch children's lives in a very special way.  CCS is a ministry that he's passionate about and has a true desire to see grow and reach as many families as possible.  He believes that we get out of life what we put in to it and serving on the CCS Board is another avenue where he can continue to contribute to the success of our school, but more importantly the spiritual growth and success of our children.

Anna Brown
Board Vice Chair

Anna Brown joined Carolina Christian School Board in July 2021.  Anna graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and has been working in the financial industry for almost 25 years.  For the last 13 years she has served in various operational roles for a local money manager in Charlotte and is currently their head trader.  Anna and her husband Jason have three children that have attended Carolina Christian School since Preschool.  They have been invested in the school for over a decade.

Anna is a communing member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and enjoys singing with the choir and praise team.  She is involved in discipleship groups and has a passion for loving and encouraging others.  She loves entertaining people at her home and is always up to host a gathering.

Anna is excited to be a part of the school board and to have the opportunity to be a servant for the Lord and to be used by Him to build up the body of Christ at Carolina Christian School.

William Huneycutt
Board Treasurer

Wil Huneycutt joined the Carolina Christian School Board in 2022.  He graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury in 2011, where he earned his B.S. degree in Accounting.  He currently works as a Certified Public Accountant where he owns and operates his CPA firm, with offices in Albemarle and Asheboro.

Wil and his wife, Katie, have been married for nine years and have five children (Hannah, 17; Logan, 14; Kamdyn, 10; Karmyn, 10; and Katelyn, 6).  Four of his children currently attend Carolina Christian School.  Wil and his family are members of Mission Baptist Church, where they are active in the children's ministry and have served as Treasurer and member of the finance committee.  Wil and Katie are also licensed foster parents, and are actively involved in foster care to many children who have lived in their home over the years.

Wil serves on many boards in and around Stanly County.  Currently, he serves as Chair Elect of the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chair of the Stanly County Economic Development Commission, and Athletic Director of the Stanly County Post 76 American Legion baseball program.  He is passionate about serving where needed and seeing institutions in our community thrive.

Wil and his family believe in Christian education and the purpose CCS serves for the children that attend.  He looks forward to all the good things to come for CCS and the children and families it will serve.

Gwen Lambert
Board Secretary

Gwen Lambert joined the Carolina Christian School Board in 2021. Gwen and her husband, Mark, live in Oakboro and their children have attended Carolina Christian School since Kindergarten, Kaitlyn (graduated 2021) and Clay (11th grade). They have lived in the Oakboro area for 19 years. Gwen is a Registered Nurse and has served in the nursing role for 34 years. Currently, she is employed as a Director of Nursing at Atrium Health Pineville for the past 24 years with responsibilities of overseeing the daily operations of two critical care units and two inpatient medical/surgical units as well as oversight of Nursing Education and Policy Development. Having earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Queens University in 2001, she has been in Leadership roles for over 20 years.

Gwen and her family are active members of Carolina Presbyterian Church since 2014 and participate as Sunday School teachers, community helpers and disciple group members. Gwen seeks to support Carolina Christian School in its mission to “teach the mind and guide the soul through a deeper understanding of God the Creator and His world”. As a member of the School Board, she looks forward to providing guidance and input for the leadership of the school, the academic excellence it provides to the students and the opportunities the school can provide to the community.

Mike Hadnagy
Board Member

 Mike Hadnagy joined the CCS board in July 2021.  He has two daughters at CCS, Matalin a junior and Mikhaila a senior.  Both have attended CCS since Preschool.  Matalin is on the volleyball team and Mikhaila is on a cross country team which he helps coach.

Mike came to NC by way of Fort Bragg as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in 1981.  He later completed a BS degree in Polymer Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and worked as a research chemist prior to attending East Carolina University where he earned a medical degree.  Following an Internal Medicine residency in Greensboro in 2002, he came to Stanly County where he has lived and practiced as a hospitalist with Atrium Health.

Mike has a passion for overseas missions and has had the opportunity to serve in several countries on both medical and service-oriented mission trips.  He also serves currently as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for Sports Outreach International.  He considers himself bless that wife, Marcelle, and his daughters share the same passion and have served as a family on numerous mission trips.

Mike has had the opportunity to watch CCS grow over the years.  He has seen many educators and administrators in action.  No two were similar, but each seemed to have his/her own unique gift to offer at just the time it was needed.  It is in retrospect that he can see God's hand in the process.  Mike firmly believes, if we rely on God, He will continue to bless CCS with talented educators and leadership to prepare our students to succeed both as professionals and as representatives of Christ.

Amy Martin
Board Member

Amy Martin joined the Carolina Christian School Board in July 2021. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University and received her degree in Occupational Therapy.

Amy and her husband, Jason, have been married for seventeen years. They have three kids (Avery, 15; Hadley, 13; and Cole, 9) who have attended Carolina Christian School since preschool. They attend Carolina Presbyterian Church and been members since 2010. They are involved in community groups, discipleship groups, Sunday school teachers, kid’s choir, and Wednesday night church.

Amy has served on multiple boards of directors. She currently serves as the treasurer on the board of directors for Standing Side by Side, which is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to an orphanage in Liberia, Africa. She also served on the Wings of Eagles Ranch board of directors for many years. Wings of Eagles is a non-profit, therapeutic horseback riding facility in Concord, NC.

Amy and her family highly value Christian education, and look forward to the growth and success of Carolina Christian School in the coming years.

H.G. Troutman
Board Member

H.G. joined the Carolina Christian School Board of Directors in 2021.  He attended Central Cabarrus High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  His career was in residential construction, prior to retirement.

H.G. and his wife, Sharon, have been members of Carolina Presbyterian Church since 2015.  They have served as Sunday School teachers and are involved in both community groups and discipleship groups.  H.G. is current a deacon at Carolina Presbyterian Church.

H.G.'s grandson, Dave, attends CCS in grade 4 and has been a students here since Preschool.  H.G. and Sharon both love the school, students, teachers and staff.  They desire to see Carolina Christian grow and flourish.

Daniel Ray
Board Member

 Daniel Ray joined the Carolina Christian School Board in 2022.  He earned a BA in Humanities from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  He is the VP, Business Development, at Preferred Floor & Tile Co. and is the Co-Founder of Growth Hub, a small business consulting company.  Daniel lives in Stanfield, NC with his wife, Erin, and their four boys.  Their three older boys are students at Carolina Christian School.  He and his family are members of Carolina Presbyterian Church.

Daniel serves on the Executive Committee of the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte Board of Directors and serves as Co-Chair of the North Carolina Rental Home Council.  He also volunteers at The Olive Branch Organization Society, a nonprofit providing basic living necessities to those who are disadvantaged and socially excluded.

It is fidelity to God's Word and mission that excites Daniel the most about CCS.  In a world filled with secularism on the one hand and sectarianism on the other, the school's winsome orthodoxy in the pursuit of academic excellence is a breath of fresh air to those who walk its halls.

Jane McManus
Board Member

 Jane McManus joined the Carolina Christian School Board in 2022.  She has earned a BA degree in History from Pfeiffer University.  Jane is retired from Stanly Community College where she was an instructor for GED students.  Prior to that she taught in a Christian school and had also been the director of a child care ministry.  Jane and her husband Jerry are both retired and have two adult sons plus 3 grandchildren.  She has a 2 year old grandson that attends Carolina Preschool.

Jane and her husband are members of Carolina Presbyterian Church.  she is actively involved in a discipleship group studying the word of God and reaching others in prayer.  She has also joined the women's discipleship group, "Grace Laced Ladies", and is looking forward to the ministry and fellowship with the women of the church.

Jane's passion for Christian education is the reason she chose to be a part of the CCS school board.  She is hopeful that her background in Christian education will benefit both students and teachers.  She is also excited to see what Christ will continue to do at CCS in the upcoming months and year.

Phillip Kemp
Board Member

 Phillip Kemp is a Director of Corporate Security Operations in the Greater Charlotte Market, with oversight of 11 Atrium Health facilities and 90+ teammates.  Throughout the course of his professional career, Phillip has consistently cultivated strong cultures of engagement, teamwork and professional development, while fostering multidisciplinary relationships as force multipliers.  He has published works on Security Industry best practices, as well as presenting at the 2019 International Planetree Person-Centered Conference.  Phillip was recently recognized by the 2022 Diversity MBA Business Review's Top 100 Under 50 Executive & Emerging Leaders.  Prior to joining Atrium Health, Phillip honorably served 12 years in the United States Air Force as Senior Intelligence Analyst with distinguished character.  Phillip earned a BA in Pastoral Studies, and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, and an executive graduate certificate in Business Management & Leadership from Liberty University where he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership. 

 

Phillip is a devoted husband of 24 years to his darling LaTijera, and a proud father of two amazing sons, Jeremiah and Victor - both of whom are CCS students.  Phillip is passionate about his relationship with Christ, and endeavors to daily walkout the scripture:  "To whom much is given, much is required."  Phillip is excited about the rich opportunity to serve on the CCS Board, and looks forward to offering his commitment, perspective, and dedicated service in benefit of All for the Glory of God.

Tim Akers
Board Member

 Tim Akers joined Carolina Christian School Board in March 2023.  Tim earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1982.  He graduated Cum Laude from the Business School with a degree in Information Systems.  Professionally, Tim has worked for over 40 years in the financial software industry and in various entrepreneurial roles.  He retired from Wells Fargo Bank with the title of Senior Software Engineer as an Assistant Vice President.  Tim has been married for 35 years to his wife Wanda.  They have 2 children who both attended Christian schools from pre-school through high school graduation.

Tim is a communing member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and is currently serving as Elder.  He teaches middle school Sunday School and acts as facilitator for one of the church's adult Sunday School classes.  He is involved in discipleship and community groups.  He enjoys entertaining, gardening and farming.

Tim is enthusiastic about Christian education and believes that children who attend are blessed in every way.  He also feels that Carolina Christian School is uniquely positioned to be a blessing to the community and is humbled to serve on the board.

Dr. Alexander Grey
Head of School

 Dr. Alexander (Alex) Grey has many years of experience in the field of Christian Educational Leadership, classroom teaching, and coaching various varsity level sports. He holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Educational Leadership, a Educational Specialist degree in Secondary Social Sciences, a Masters degree in Teaching and Education, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, all from Liberty University. Dr. Grey’s passion is helping all aspects of Christian schools to improve and excel in both academics and in the spiritual development of the school family. Dr. Grey enjoys all sorts of athletics, reading, mission projects, and growing stronger in his spiritual journey each day. He has been married to his wife Kim for 32 years on July 8th of this year. He also has three grown children who live in the greater Charlotte area.
