Emily Barbee
Middle School Social Studies  & Digital Citizenship Teacher

Mrs. Barbee hails from Peachland and obtained her Education degree from Wingate University.  She has served as a public school teacher, a homeschool educator, school board member, and as an assistant to the secondary principal at an international school in Thailand. 

 

Mrs. Barbee encourages independence and confidence in her student's academic studies; moreover, she desires to lead them to serve and lead like Jesus.

Dr. Lou Ann Lucas
Middle School Science & Math Teacher

Mrs. Lucas is a native of Union County/Monroe, NC.  She has a BS in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and PhD in Pharmacology from East Carolina University where she studied addiction and neuropharmacology.  She has taught Biology for several community colleges and universities.  For the past few years, she has been a substitute teacher for CCS as well as a Preschool teacher.  

Mrs. Lucas loves to see students get excited about learning and develop a confidence in what they can do academically.  She is also passionate about seeing youth grow in their relationship and knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Elizabeth Gibbs
Middle School English Teacher

Mrs. Gibbs is a graduate of Wingate University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Reading and Elementary Education.  She taught middle school language arts and history, before homeschooling her own children.  She and her husband have 5 children and 8 grandchildren.  She has a love for teaching and is excited to be back in the classroom, helping students grow academically and spiritually.

Hannah Haigler
Middle School English  Teacher

 Ms. Haigler graduated from Wingate University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  She has worked with middle and high school students for the past few years while on staff at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe, and is excited to begin her first year teaching at CCS.  Ms. Haigler's goal through teaching English is for students to discover an appreciation for literature, to become stronger readers and writers, and to be better equipped in their walks with Christ.

Thomas Gibbs
Middle School Bible Teacher

Pastor Gibbs is a graduate of Wingate University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a minor in Speech Communication.  He holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest.  He is a firefighter and medical responder with Midland Fire and Rescue.  He is their chaplain and chaplain for the Cabarrus County Fireman's Association, he also holds 2 certifications in Critical Incident Stress Management.  He has pastored for 31 years and has over 40 years of ministry experience.  He and his wife have 5 children and 8 grandchildren.  He looks forward to this new ministry of teaching Bible and English at Carolina Christian School.

Rocio Little
Middle School Spanish Teacher

Mrs. Little holds a certificate in ESL from Venezuela (CEVAZ) and an Early Childhood Education certificate from Stanly Community College, in addition to completing 3 years of Mechanical Engineering at University of Zulia in Venezuela (LUZ).  Mrs. Little enjoys teaching at CCS because she loves to share her knowledge of her native language and also to put it into practice as a tool to stimulate God's guidance in our kids' lives.

Faith Aldridge
Middle School P.E. Teacher

Miss Aldridge grew up as a competitive gymnast since she could walk.  With a career ending injury that led to a year full of physical therapy and eventual surgery, she found a love of helping individuals of all ages prevent injuries that accompanied her love for sports.  Miss Aldridge studied Exercise Science at Coastal Carolina University and ultimately received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Systems Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She is a certified personal trainer and her goal is to ensure our athletes safety and to create relationships that will teach our youth the valuable lessons they need when their time at CCS is finished.

Angie Stiller
High School Science Teacher

Mrs. Stiller holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She has been teaching for 18 years at various levels and finds great joying in doing so.  Mrs. Stiller enjoys teaching at Carolina Christian because it allows her to enjoy her three favorite things:  Christ, teenagers, and science.

Pat VanHoose
High School Math Teacher

Mrs. VanHoose comes to Carolina Christian School with 30 years of teaching experience; 3 years in Onslow County while her husband was in the Marines and the rest in Stanly County.   Mrs. VanHoose and her husband have 2 sons that are currently 28 and 30 and 2 amazing daughters in law.  She and her husband currently help with coaching the Stanly Shredders mountain biking team (founded by CCS's very own Jackson McLean).  She loves bike riding, hiking, watching her son's dogs, and baking.

Caroline Wright
High School History Teacher

Mrs. Wright has a Bachelor of Science degree in History, with a minor in Military history.  She also holds a Masters in 19th Century Political history, completing her thesis on Betty Ford.  This is her 1st year at CCS but her 4th year teaching.  Mrs. Wright hopes to make history engaging and incorporate biblical themes throughout.

Jake Wright
High School Bible Teacher

Mr. Wright is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies, concentration in Theology and Apologetics.  He has worked as a youth group leader since 2020 and is entering his first year teaching at CCS.  Mr. Wright believes that the Word of God has applications in all areas of life, and loves to teach teenagers to think critically about the world through the lens of biblical truth.

Salatiel Chuc
High School Spanish Teacher

 Mr. Chuc graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors degree in Theology from San Pablo Seminary in Mexico.  He served as pastor at National Presbyterian Church in Mexico and also taught Biblical Greek at San Pablo Seminary for 14 years.  Mr. Chuc earned his Masters in Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte in 2017.  He believes that Christian Education is God's will for everyone, and teaching at CCS is a great opportunity to teach and lead this generation according to God's heart with guidance of the Holy Spirit.
