At Carolina Christian School, we prepare our students to work through real-life situations as a person of faith, character and integrity.  It is our desire that all CCS Lower School students are prepared for secondary education with a strong academic and spiritual foundation, that they identify and utilize their God-given talents for kingdom growth, and that they are effective communicators and thoughtful problem solvers.  Our school environment and classroom curriculum were developed to bolster each of these preparatory areas.

LOWER SCHOOL CURRICULUM

• All North Carolina state standards are met.

• Strong academic core classes:  Bible, Language Arts, Math, Reading/Literature, Spelling, Grammar, Social Studies, Science and Health

• Heavy Phonics based coursework.

• Handwriting:  manuscript focus (1st grade) and cursive (2nd grade)

• Hands-on manipulatives employed in the classroom

• Academic testing:  3rd-5th grade annually

• Students participate in weekly chapel and daily Bible lessons which provide a strong Biblical foundation and spiritual guidance.
